We Need You!
Meetings - Every Tuesday, after school, in Room E104
What does the LitMag staff do?
We try to get our classmates to submit their original writing - poetry, lyrics, essays, short stories, and anything else they might think of. We also look for art - photos, drawings, computer art, whatever! Once we have many submissions to choose from we start the selection process. All submissions are evaluated by at least three different editors, there is discussion, then a vote. Not every submission makes it into the Totem. Then we proofread and edit, and proofread some more. Once all the pieces have been selected and edited we begin laying out the magazine on the computers. We use Adobe InDesign for layout and Photoshop (to crop and lighten up some of the images). We proofread again, finalize the publication and send it off to the printers. We have 200 printed for each edition and we do three editions a year.
Want to submit to the LitMag?
We can't have a LitMag without you! Submit your literary or artistic work now for the next edition. You can email it to us - You can drop it off with Mrs. Thompson or Mrs. Harris - or you can stop by E104 on Tuesdays after school. Deadline for Edition 2 will be in late February (but get it in early).
